Another Baby Shower this weekend, and another day closer to Baby B’s arrival!
If I were to dream up the perfect day to celebrate Baby B, it would be this day. I can’t believe how much he’s already loved by everyone around him. I’m still feeling all sorts of emotions from the weekend, but I find such comfort in being surrounded and celebrated by all these people that are going to be right next to us every step of the way.
My vision for the baby shower was simple: a “non-baby-shower” baby shower. I was looking forward to a laid-back, rustic feel with all whites and tons of greenery and flowers, hints of gold and blue accents, all combined into one.
I’m sharing every detail of the day below! The charming rustic atmosphere, delicious food, and even better company couldn’t have provided a more special day to celebrate our little one.
Venue: Hillside Events
If you’re looking for the perfect backdrop and event space for your upcoming event, consider Hillside Events located in Denton, Nebraska just outside of Lincoln. I knew I wanted a rustic look and this space achieved that perfectly! The wood provided the perfect masculine touch. The barn holds up to 150 people indoors (with additional seating outdoors) and is surrounded by lush green pastures, beautiful trees, rolling hills, and a vineyard offering panoramic views from wherever you are located on-site!
Prior to the shower, I went to check out the venue in person and fell in love immediately. They have three stunning locations on-site that can host weddings, showers, birthdays, and any other party you can think of! I was deciding between their patio area, but ultimately went with the barn because of the wooden features and Nebraska heat can be so unpredictable. So happy I did because it turned out just gorgeous!
The invitations really set the tone for the entire event. From the simplicity to the watercolor design, every detail was well thought out.
As guests arrived, they mingled over “Mom-osa’s” and finger foods. Just because it’s a baby shower doesn’t mean you can’t have a little bubbly! The “MOM-osa” bar was equipped with fresh-squeezed juices and fresh fruit. Finger foods included a charcuterie board, pinwheels, veggie cups, and spinach and artichoke dip.
There was even a little touch of sparkle.. which fits my personality perfectly!
After games, this mama-to-be moved to a light blue velvet vintage chair to open gifts! Guests watched as presents (& lots of books – we did the books instead of a card) were opened, and enjoyed the array of desserts; cake, mini donuts, and custom cookies.
At the end of the baby shower, I took photos with guests in front of the gorgeous backdrop.

HUGE thank you to my sweet friends and hostesses Summer, Rachel, Kim, & Katie for putting together such an unforgettable baby shower! You ladies really outdid yourselves and I’m so appreciative and thankful for you.
And, thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us! It was so fun to see all of my favorite people at one time.
The day was truly filled with such an outpouring of love, support and excitement for Baby Broulette, I was left positively overwhelmed. I will cherish these memories + photos forever and ever!
