And just like that, we have a 1-year-old boy. Oh my!
This past weekend we had a BALL celebrating our little babe turning ONE! How has it already been a full year?!
We threw our son Braxton a Football inspired birthday party and it was beyond amazing! I have been dreaming about this party since well, he was born. We had so much fun tailgating at The Broulette Stadium with close friends and family, and I of course, want to include you guys in on the celebration so I thought I’d do a little recap post of his party.
Like any event I throw, it all starts with a good theme. And when it comes to kids Birthday Parties there’s SO many fun ideas!! To get my husband involved, I let him choose our son’s theme! …. And so Football it was, no surprise there. HA. Challenge accepted.
I’m excited to break down the party for you all so I can share ALL the details, cause, you know, it’s all about the details! You can see where the idea began and my inspiration board here. The planning and pulling together ideas is really my favorite part.
Food
Because of the nature of the theme, I went with a sports tailgate menu – so of course, all your game day favorites, PRETZELS, pulled pork sandwiches, and popcorn!
Pretzel Bar
My first DIY project started with making the pretzel bar for his birthday. I saw on Pinterest so many amazing inspiration ideas for Pretzel Bars made out of Copper PVC pipe. I wanted to create something similar for his birthday. Pretzels provided by Aunt Jemima.
Served with all the favorite dipping sauces, Honey Mustard, Spicy Cheese, Ranch, and Mustard.
Desserts
On the vintage food cart I added one of my balloon garlands displayed above it! On the cart I displayed all the desserts using white cake stands in various sizes.for and white display dishes.
Cocktails
A crucial part of any party! We kept it very simple, mostly, cold beer and hard liquor or DIY drinks on the vintage bar cart.
Cake
You guys, I made this cake topper, and I am SO obsessed how it turned out. I ordered the miniature football figurines online and painted them eucalyptus green. I then purchased cardstock paper (you can find at any craft store) and poms to make the hats. I glued the hats to the football players, and Wa-Lah they are READY TO PARTY.
The wire ONE letters were found on ETSY.
My heart is so happy with how it turned out. I also did a tiny smash cake for B and topped it with a little topper that matched his other cake..
But the BEST part of where the cake sat, was the AMAZING custom backdrop created by Ember Prints, with the design inspired by me. She always makes my crazy envisions come to life. Talk about a show stopper. Seriously, my favorite feature of the party!
Monthly Photos
I displayed each photo on a mini clipboard and hung from one of our white grid backdrops. I used the custom felt pennants and pom pom garlands to give it an extra touch!
Mosaic One
I LOVE our custom 5 ft Balloon Numbers. Can be customized with any colors.
Touchdown Photobooth
No party is complete without a good photo op! These TOUCHDOWN letters were 14” tall and hand painted by me. I LOVE how they turned out!
Party Favors
Send your guests home in style with a good parting gift! These boxes were filled with goodies for the little ones. Favor tags designed by me.
And of course a few more snaps..
Thank you to my family and friends for all of the love & support you have given our family this past year. We are so excited for another year of laughter, excitement, and joy with Braxton Lynn.
